This was a very different Easter experience for me. Last year in 2024, I was the pastor at First Methodist Church Gladewater. I was an ordained pastor for 41 years prior to that. This was my first Easter in a LONG, LONG TIME not to be pastoring at a church and helping lead the church through the Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Resurrection Sunday experience!
Last year I led a Maundy Thursday worship service on Thursday evening. Then on Good Friday, we had two services of worship. Then on Easter Sunday morning, we had three worship services, one at 7:00 a.m., one at 9:00 a.m. and one at 11:00 a.m. I always wanted these services to be meaningful for each person who participated, and I know I carried the weight of that, as a pastor and a leader should!
It was QUITE a different experience this year not to have the weight of all of that!
I was able to experience and process things in a very different and much more personal way.
One of the things that is strong on my heart as I walk away from this 2025 Easter experience is Jesus calling to me and saying, “Come, follow Me, and I will make you a fisher of men!”
I hope that you can hear that as well. This may involve going to church, but it is much, much greater than going to church or being a church member.
I believe that there is a revival coming! I can feel it deep in my Spirit, and this revival is going to be about “FOLLOWING JESUS” as His modern-day disciples! It is also going to involve learning how to be “fishers of men” for the glory of God!
What does it mean for you today to be a modern-day disciple of Jesus?
What does it mean for us to FOLLOW JESUS today?
God is so stirring my heart with this in these days! I hope that you will hear His call today and in these days! A revival is stirring! God is inviting us to be a part of it!

Thanks, Bud for your years of service as a Pastor. Yes, I feel God is calling us to a deeper relationship with Him and this call to be a fisher of men. So thankful I have the opportunity to visit and encourage our hospice patients and families as a volunteer.
